Ten years ago, solar panels were still a rarity when a home was put up for sale; now we see more and more sellers who have them. Solar panels are an excellent investment! They cut your energy bill, reduce your carbon footprint and add real value when you sell.
Whereas homes used to be sold without the panels from time to time, we now find that they are invariably included in the ‘deal’. This also saves you the paperwork and the time needed to dismantle and reinstall the system.
What often held some owners back from installing solar panels was the way they look. That is now a thing of the past. The frames are now black and the solar cells themselves have a dark tint too, so the panels are far less conspicuous on the roof. Of course, the panels do not always have to be visible: they can be installed on a flat roof perfectly well, although this sometimes comes at the cost of some efficiency.
Since the energy crisis, buyers value solar panels all the more. So if you are already thinking of selling your home in the coming years, installing panels can still pay off. It is a great selling point!
