For every property we sell, the flood risk is always shown. Since January 2023, this has been expressed as a P-score and a G-score. The P-score relates to the plot (perceel), such as the garden or a (building) plot. The G-score applies to the building (gebouw) on the plot.
Both the plot and the building may be located in a flood-prone area. To indicate the degree of flood risk, there are 4 classes, from A to D. For class D, an icon is always required: a small tree for the plot and/or a small house for the building.
- class A: no flooding modelled;
- class B: low chance of flooding under climate change (scenario 2050);
- class C: low chance of flooding under the current climate;
- class D: medium chance of flooding under the current climate.
You can also look up your P-score and G-score yourself at https://www.waterinfo.be/informatieplicht and download a report (the ‘watertoets’ or water test).
Good to know: these maps are generated automatically. If you disagree with the result, you can appoint a flood expert to examine your home and plot. The expert can advise you on how to protect the building better or, after investigation, draw up a flood certificate and so have the score adjusted.
